1 mL frozen EDTA plasma

Collection Protocol:
- The animal should be fasted to avoid or minimize lipemia.
- Collect enough blood to provide 0.5 to 1 mL of EDTA plasma.
- Draw sample directly into EDTA (lavender top) tube.
- Centrifuge and separate plasma immediately.
- Must be submitted in a plastic tube as endogenous ACTH will bind to
glass. - Freeze the plasma sample until shipped as endogenous ACTH is also
destroyed by increased temperatures, which will give falsely low values
leading to an incorrect interpretation. - Serum and unspun EDTA samples will not be accepted.
