BREED DESCRIPTION
Known in Britain since the 14th century, the English Setters were valued for their working ability rather than
appearance.
The English Setter is a true gentleman by nature. The breed constantly expresses a willingness to
please.
The English setter prefers country or suburban living. He's an outdoor type that should have lots of
exercise because he is so active.
Males will measure about 25 in, 64 cm. Females an inch less.
Coat
should be flat with no trace of curl or woolliness. There should be feathering on the ears, chest, belly, the underside
of the thighs, the back of the legs and the tail.
The coat needs regular brushing and some trimming to shape the
feathering and neaten the outline.
